Refrigeration: Sectional view of ice-house, pit dug and lined with brick, poor conductor of heat. Roof covered with thatch for same reason. Each piece of ice dipped in water before packed in ice-house, so forming solid mass with minimum surface area exposed. Drain at bottom.
