Edward IV (1442-1483) king of England March 1461 to October 1470 and April 1471-1483. With the help of Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, he was declared king in 1461, usurping the throne of the Lancastrian king, Henry VI. First Yorkist king of England, his reign the country was disrupted by the Wars of the Roses.
