Harriet Constance Smithson (1800-1854) Irish actress. In 1827 she appeared in Paris as Ophelia "Hamlet" and Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" when the French composer Hector Berlioz became enamoured of her. They married in 1833 and separated in 1841. Engraving published 1819.
