Thomas Thomson (1773-1852) Scottish chemist, born at Creiff, Perthshire. A disciple of Joseph Black, he became professor of chemistry at Glasgow University in 1817. Published "A System of Chemistry" (1820). Engraving from "A Biographical Dictionary of Eminent Scotsmen" by the Rev. Thomas Thomson (Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, 1870).
