The Battle of Alma, 20 September 1854: The Highlanders attacking the Russian redoubt led by General Sir Colin Campbell (1792-1863) shown in tartan trews and wearing a Scottish bonnet urging on his kilted troops. The Allies (Britain, France and Turkey) defeated the Russians. Engraving c1860.
