Pepper's Ghost: a method of projecting a 'ghost' onto the stage. 'Ghost' under stage is light and reflected by mirror on to sheet of glass in frotn of stage. To the audience the 'ghost' appears to be on the stage. The projector is lit by Limelight (Drummond or Oxy-hydrogen light. From A Ganot "Natural Philosphy", London, 1887.
