Figurines of females from the ancient Phoenecian city of larnaca (Cyprus). Cyprus had Phoenician settlements by the 9th century BC. Citium / known to the Greeks as Kition (biblical Kittim) / in the southeast corner of the island / became the principal colony of the Phoenicians in Cyprus. 900-850 BC
