Danger of subversive activities increased by the war conditions in Europe, has resulted in the appointment of 20 experienced policemen to augment the Capitol police force. Some of the new men who were recruited from the FBI, Secret Service and Metropolitan police force, are shown in this photograph as they went on their first tour of duty. 1940
