Title
Kidoumou mask
Caption
Kidoumou mask. Created in the middle of the 19th Century, the Kidoumou mask evokes a face but the geometrical patterns that cover it are of more importance. The carved and painted symbols are ideograms and refer to the crocodile, python, the sun and the moon, the stars and the rainbow skies, roads and male and female sexual organs. From the Congo.
