Stroud, Gloucestershire (UK), 2011. The Stroud pound used a system known as demurrage, which meant notes would lose 3% of their value every six months to encourage continued circulation. The notes would become invalid unless stamps were purchased to revalidate the currency. The Stroud pound stopped being issued in 2013
