Detail from Santa Maria della Salute and the Dogana, Venice, c. 1770 by Italian painter, Francesco Guardi (1712-1793). He was a Venetian painter of veduta, a member of the Venetian School. He is considered to be among the last practitioners, along with his brothers, of the classic Venetian school of painting. Oil on canvas. Birmingham Museum.
