La Frette by Lucien Pissarro (1863-1944). Seen from a high vantage point on the riverbank, a dredger has turned a bend and is moving slowly down-river towards the spectator. Trees on the right bank close off the picture space. Lucien Pissarro moved to England in 1890 but made regular visits to France. This scene was one of many paintings he made while staying at the village of La Frette on the Seine.
