Effeltrich, St George's fortified church and thousand-year-old dancing lime tree. The fortified church was built at the end of the 15th century as a fortified church after Nuremberg troops had robbed the town twice. With its approx. 200 metre long wall, four towers and the battlements on the south side, Effeltrich has the best preserved fortified church in Upper Franconia. 1000-year-old lime tree with a circumference of 9 metres at ground level, about 8 metres high, one of the oldest trees in Germany
