The rail network outside Frankfurt Central Station is empty. The German Train Drivers' Union (GDL) has announced a nationwide strike in passenger transport from Wednesday, 24 January, 2 am to Monday, 29 January, 6 pm. The work stoppage at DB Cargo will begin on 23 January at 6 pm.
