Jean Victor Moreau (1761-1813), French soldier and revolutionary. Supported Napoleon in the coup d'état of the 18th Brumaire (9 November 1799) . In 1804 Napoleon banished him, accusing him of conspiring against him. In 1813, he entered Russian service and fought in Dresden, where his legs were shattered by a French cannonball.
