The Weisseritztalbahn is the second oldest narrow-gauge railway in Saxony and the longest-serving publicly operated narrow-gauge railway in Germany. The line has been running from Freital-Hainsberg near Dresden through the valley of the Rote Weisseritz to Dippoldiswalde since 1882 and to Kipsdorf in the Osterzgebirge mountains since 1883
