Eliasfriedhof is the oldest preserved cemetery in Dresden and is considered the city's most culturally and historically significant cemetery. The burial site in the Pirnaische Vorstadt, which has been disused since 1876 and was closed by the building authorities in 1928, is a listed building and is now looked after by an association
