Candle arch Gelenau The Gelenau candle arch is in the Guinness Book of Records. The world's first candle arch was made in 1740 by the miners' blacksmith Carl Traugott Teller. He brought an arch-shaped candlestick to a Metten celebration, which the miners then lit in the centre of the room
