DEU/Saxony/Ebersbach The Saxon cannabis producer Demecan is now the first German company to be authorised to cultivate medicinal cannabis indefinitely under the new Cannabis Act. The company had been authorised to produce since 2019, albeit subject to conditions such as a maximum production quantity or regulated distribution. These conditions will now no longer apply, which will improve the supply situation for medicinal cannabis. The Federal Government Commissioner for Addiction and Drug Issues Burkhard Blienert and Health Minister Petra Köpping took a tour of the production facility to find out more about the manufacture of medicinal cannabis.
