At the end of the 12th century, Dietrich the Afflicted, Margrave of Meissen, donated a convent in Meissen to the Benedictine nuns, which was consecrated to the Holy Cross. Its buildings were initially located between Burgberg and the Elbe on the site of a former moated castle. In 2004, the Hahnemann Centre undertook further renovation work on the buildings. Today it serves as a venue for events and has an extensive monastery garden, Meissen, Saxony, Germany, Europe
