Plainwell, Michigan, The Michigan Paper Company Mill Historic District. Paper was made here from the 1880s until 2000. The mill polluted the Kalamazoo River, which became a Superfund site. The city of Plainwell acquired the mill in 2006. Parts were demolished and other sections cleaned up, becoming City Hall, with space for other businesses
