Japanese Palace, a four-winged complex with oriental echoes built in 1727-37 by Matthäus Pöppelmann. The previous building from 1715, called the Dutch Palace after the Dutch envoy who resided there, was partially incorporated into the new building (staircase in the south wing) (side wing demolished and moved) . From 1782 public use for libraries and collections, 1836 remodelling of the antique halls by (Gottfried Semper (1803-1879) : master builder) Semper. Destroyed in 1945, it serves
