Ie Altenberger Pinge a pinge created by tin mining in Altenberg in the Eastern Erzgebirge. The main quarry was in 1620 and at the beginning of the 19th century the pinge only covered an area of around 2.5 hectares. From around 1976 in particular, it was significantly expanded through intensive ore mining. Today, it has an average diameter of 400 metres, a depth of around 130 metres and an area of around 12 hectares. The pinge and some of the associated mining facilities are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Ore Mountains Mining Region, Altenberg, Altenberg, Saxony, Germany, Europe
