Pleasure gondolas in 1719 The 300th anniversary of the prince's wedding in 1719 was celebrated in Dresden with a historic water parade on the Elbe. Thousands were present when the convoy of replicas of historic gondolas set off for Dresden. The water parade, themed Lustgondeln anno 1719, commemorated the journey of the young couple, Saxony's Elector Prince Friedrich August and Emperor's daughter Archduchess Maria Josepha of Austria.
