The cruise ship shipyard still employs around 700 people, compared to 1, 300 in front of the shipbuilding crisis, making it one of Wismar's largest employers. The newly built facilities in Wismar also include the covered building dock, whose hall is 72 metres high, 155 metres wide and over 395 metres long. The shipyard has belonged to the Malaysian-Chinese shipping company Genting Hong Kong since March 2016. Genting founded the new MV Werften, which in future will comprise the Wismar, Warnemünde and Stralsund sites with a total of around 1, 700 employees The shipyard group filed for insolvency in January 2022 and the shipyard was sold to Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems as a result in June 2022, Europe
