The artists behind the decor are Charles Eloi Asselin (1765-1800) , active in the factory as a painter of patterns and characters, and Charles- Marie-Pierre Boitel (1797-1822) , active in the factory as a gilder and painter.
The antiquarian decor befitting this period presents an iconographic program built around the poet Horace . The two principales scenes represent him in an interior decor of ancient architecture .
