The first bus with a fuel engine was delivered to the Paris Compagnie générale des Omnibus in 1905 for the Salon de l'Auto. It was a double decker bus model 2 built by Brillié-Schneider.
For a while, the former horse-drawn omnibus and the new motor bus coexisted.
