The American aircraft carrier "Lexington" exploding at the end of the Battle of the Coral Sea (May 7-8, 1942). After being damaged by Japanese planes, the great American carrier was ravaged by the explosion of fuel fume that had accumulate in the airplane hangerand tanks. It would be finished off by its escort ships.
