Beginning in 1942, the Boeing factories of Seattle and Everett, Washington, were already building 150 B-17s a month, then 250 in 1943. In all, Boeing build 6,981 B-17s during the war, with Douglas delivering another
3,000 and Lockheed-Vega 2,750.
