The B-24 was the bomber produced in the greatest number during World War II (18,188 units).
In 1944, the Fort Worth factory was the longest in the world (more than a kilometer). Closed in 1945, it resumed business during the Korean War, before being used to assemble General Dynamics F-16 fighters from the 1970s to the 1990s.
Consolidated-Vultee was the second-largest airplane builder during World War II (behind North American), delivering 30,903 planes.
