Title
Ferrara, the Castello Estense
Caption
Ferrara, the Castello Estense (the Estense Castle), also known as Castle of St. Michael: view of the ceiling of the Aurora hall: at the centre "Time (Cronus)", aroundframes with Dawn, Day, Sunset and Night. Work by Bastianino and Ludovico Settevecchi. The cornices which are decorated with putti are by Leonardo da Brescia. The Chamber, former Ercole II's private room, was known in 1600 as the mirror chamber. It gives the name to the whole representation apartment that Alfonso II wanted. The vault scenes are thought to be the allegory of human life. Castello Estense, Ferrara (FE), Emilia Romagna, Italia - Italy
