Orvieto, Basilica Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta (or Duomo), the façade, the central lunette: copy of the Madonna with Child and six angels holding a curtain , by an Umbrian-Siena sculptor and "Maestro Sottile" (Lorenzo Maitani?). The Madonna was made in the first decade of the fourteenth century, the angels in 1325. Marble, bronze, polychrome, gold and glass paste.
