The Genoa Cathedral

Genova, Museo del Tesoro della Cattedrale di San Lorenzo: croce stauroteca detta "Degli Zaccaria"; manifattura orafa bizantina del XIII secolo; argento dorato, perle, smeraldi, rubini, zaffiri, granati, agate, corniole, e cristalli di rocca. Commissionata nel IX secolo da Barda, fratello di Teodolinda e imperatore d'Oriente, che ne fece dono alla basilica di S. Giovanni Evangelista di Efeso. Rifatta tra il 1260 e il 1283 da Isacco, vescovo di Efeso, fu poi riconquistata dalla famiglia genovese degli Zaccaria, che ne fece dono alla Cattedrale.

Genoa, Museum of the Treasury of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo: cross reliquary containing a relic of the Sacred Cross of Jesus, called "Of the Zechariahs", Byzantine goldsmith of the thirteenth century; gilded silver, pearls, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, garnets, agate, carnelian, and rock crystal.
It was commissioned in the ninth century by Barda, brother of Teodolinda and Emperor of the East. He donated it to the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist in Ephesus. It was remade between 1260 and 1283 by Isaac, bishop of Ephesus. It was later recaptured by the Genoa family of Zachariahs, who donated it to the Cathedral.
