Sassuolo, Palazzo Ducale Estense, Galleria di Bacco: “Bacco raggiunge Arianna abbandonata da Teseo sull'isola di Naxos”. Il finto arazzo sollevato da un putto che ne resta quasi totalmente nascosto, raffigura una marina dominata da una roccia sulla quale siede Arianna. A destra, Bacco tenta di consolarla per la fuga di Teseo; alle sue spalle alcuni satiri e le navi. Si tratta di uno dei quarantuno riquadri con scene dipinte da Jean Boulanger che narrano le vicende di Bacco. Dipinto murale a tempera, 1650 - 52.

Sassuolo, Este Ducal Palace, the Bacchus Gallery: “Bacchus reaches Ariadne abandoned by Theseus on the island of Naxos”. The faux tapestry raised by a putto which remains almost totally hidden by it, depicts a seascape dominated by a rock on which Ariadne sits. On the right, Bacchus tries to console her for Theseus' flight; behind him some satyrs and ships. It is one of the forty-one panels with scenes painted by Jean Boulanger which narrate the events of Bacchus. Wall tempera painting, 1650 - 52.
