Martin Luther (10th November 1483, Eisleben 18 February 1546, Eisleben) is a german monk who opposed the derviation of Roman Catholicism and was an initiator of Protestantism (lutheranism). He translated the Bible in to german, "the language of the people". In 1517, he presented 95 theses, taking a stance against the sale of indulgences; the publication of which marked, at least symbolically, the beginning of the Reformation.
