The Grand Trianon in the Palace of Versailles. The Emperor's "Cabinet topographique" ("Topographical Office"). The "Salon des Sources". Christened the "Salon des Sources" since its' conception, in 1713, the room would come to be an addition to the lodgnings of Madame de Maintenon; the title of the room taken from the grove, in which one can see various fresh water streams, and a view of which is provided from the room. The room served as the Emperor's favourite library and workroom, the room led through to a small apartment, access to which was provided by the door to the side of the fireplace. This room gave access to the Emperor's "Topographical Office".
