Revolution. The night of the 4th August 1789. The abolition of privileges. On the night of this event, the Duke of Aiguillon proposed the idea at the "Club Breton" to abolish seigniorial rights. The following evening, the Viscount of Noailles proposed the idea of suspending privileges of the nobility, in an attempt to install calm in the provinces, to the National Assembly. The Duke of Aiguillon proposed the ensural of equality of taxation for all citizens and the re-establishment of feudal rights. Amist an indescribable atmosphere, one after the other, the "Guen de Kerangal", a Viscount of Beauharnais, Lubersac and a bishop of La Fare, were all to vote in support of discounting trivial issues from the agenda, abolishing pensions for those without titles, affecting the limitations as to the jurisdiction of the nobility, abolishing the game law, and the abolition of ecclesiastical privileges. 19th Century engraving.
