Jean-Jacques Rousseau (born on the 28th June 1712 and died on the 2nd July 1778), was a french-speaking swedish writer and philosopher. The second son of Isaac Rousseau, his father and grand-father were clock-makers, and his mother, Suzanne Bernard, was herself the daughter of a clock-maker. 19th Century engraving.
