1864. Carl Linnaeus who took the name Carl von Linné after his ennoblement, (born on the 23rd May 1707 in Råshult died on the 10th January 1778 in Uppsala), was a famous swedish naturalist, and is known for laying the foundations for the modern scheme of binomial nomenclature.
