Belgium. Anvers. Place Henri Conscience. St Charles Borromée Church. This Church, the construction of which was headed up by Rubens, is a beautifully designed work of architecture. Rubens was not only responsible for the paintings located in the Cathedral; he was further responsible for the majority of the sculptural decorations on the side of the Cathedral. This Church is typically baroque-styled in form, and was constructed by the Jesuits between 1615 and 1621. Detail.
