The Pont du Gard. The Pont du Gard makes up a section of roman acqueduct, forming a bridge comprised of three levels in the southern French commune of Vers-Pont-du-Gard, near to Remoulins, Nîmes and Uzès, in the département (region) of Gard. It crosses over the Gardon, or "Gard", and remains part of the roman acqueduct which transported water from Uzès to Nîmes.
