Constantine (Imperator Caesar Flauius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Pius Felix Invictus Augustus, Germanicus Maximus, Sarmaticus Maximus, Gothicus Maximus, Medicus Maximus, Britannicus Maximus, Arabicus Maximus, Adiabenicus Maximus, Persicus Maximus, Armeniacus Maximus, Carpicus Maximus), born in Naissus (known today as Niš in Serbia) on 27th February 274, declared Roman emperor 306 by the legions of Britannia and died on 22nd May 337. He was a predominant figure of the 4th century and the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He was the ruler who instigated the church's rapid expansion. He is considered as a saint within the orthodox church. 19th century Engraving.
