Childeric 1st (born around 440 in Westphalie, died on the 26th December 481 in Tournai). Son of Mérovée (415-458), he succeeded to the throne in 457 and married Basine de Thuringe in 463, whose son was to be Clovis 1st. 19th Century engraving.
