Caption
John of England (27th December 1166-18th October 1216), was Duke of Normandy (1199-1204) and King of England from 1199 to 1216. His nickname, John Lackland, came from the fact that he inherited no land from his father until the deaths of his older brothers. He is the only King of England to have been crowned under the name of John. Member of the Angevin dynasty of the Plantagenets, he was the fifth and last son of the King Henry II of England of Eleanor of Aquitaine.
