Poitiers (in poitevin-saintongeais, "Potae") is a French commune, a county town in the department of Vienne and the region of Poitou-Charentes. Its' inhabitants are called "Poitevins", but also as "Pictaves" or "Pictaviens", as the region of Poitiers was populated by the Pictons before the Roman invasion of Gaule. The town motto: "Holy, healthy and scholarly".
