François Ist (1494 - 1547), knowns as the father and restorer of the Humanities, the warrior King, the Great Colas or François the Big Nose, was coronated King of France on the 25th January 1515 in Reims Cathedral, and reigned until his death in 1547. The son of Charles of Angoulême and Louise of Savoy, he belonged to the Valois-Angoulême line of the Capetian dynasty.
