Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere Road, South Bank, Lambeth, London, c1951. The hall and shot tower from Hungerford Bridge. The tower was built in 1826 and incorporated into the development of the bank for the Festival of Britain in 1951 but was later demolished. Designed by Sir Robert Matthew, Leslie Martin and Peter Moro, the Royal Festival Hall is an example of modernist architecture and was built to celebrate the Festival of Britain in 1951.
