The Imperial City of Hué in Vietnam is menaced by termites. It could be saved thanks to Fipronil, an insecticide as effective as it is ecological, invented by Rhône-Poulenc. It kills the insects and stops the erosion of the wood. A project sponsored by Rhône-Poulenc and UNESCO (1996).
