Portrait of French bacteriologist Charles Nicolle (1866-1936). He was Pasteur's collaborator and director of the Pasteur Institute in Tunis. He studied tyhus and discovered the role of the louse in the transmission of this disease. Nobel Prize for medicine in 1928.
