Cesare Borgia
Caption
Cesare Borgia (1475-1507), Prince of the Renaissance. Son of Pope Alexander VI, he began an ecclesiastical career, but abandoned it for a conquest of Romagna that he would win at all costs, before assuming the title of Duke. He is blamed for the assassination of his brother and the rape of his sister. He inspired Machiavelli's "The Prince", though his motto was "Either emperor, or nothing". He died in battle, at the side of the King of Navarre.
